2022 has been a challenging year for companies due to the pressures generated by economic conditions such as the devaluation of the currency, the rise in inflation and the uncertainty of an imminent rescission, according to the forecasts of the International Monetary Fund.

In the case of Habi, this year has had its positive side, taking into account that in the first semester they managed to find a place among the unicorn category, a position reached by companies that in the initial years of their life cycle exceed a billion dollar valuation. In the country, Habi is the second startup to be classified as a unicorn, after Rappi.

And to close the year with a flourish, the company announced that it has invested 17 billion pesos in Colombia and Mexico, resources that have been allocated to innovation and development, with the aim of continuing to facilitate customer access to the real estate sector. .

Sebastian Noguera, president and co-founder of Habi, assures that they have focused on how to make home buying more agile and secure, and the automation of different stages of the process, providing greater confidence, has been the center of efforts of the startup. To do this, they have a team of more than 150 focused people who constantly look for opportunities to innovate.

The executive mentions that they have implemented this solution in stages such as the georeferencing of the property, the determination of the initial price without a physical visit, optimal route planning so that appraisers and remodeling experts can visit dozens of properties per day, construction of the remodeling budget. personalized for each property, intelligent definition of the type of remodeling to be carried out based on the particularities of the area where the property is located, automatic reading and analysis of Certificates of Tradition and Freedom, among many others.

In addition, it has consolidated one of the most robust databases of the housing sector in the country, with more than 10 million properties, this through different information gathering strategies and market surveys. This allows it to carry out more than 24,000 monthly appraisals, of which more than 95% are carried out automatically by its artificial intelligence models.

Through the integration of other actors in the sector, such as banks, it has managed to monitor different moments of the purchase and sale of housing, such as notarial and deed procedures or access to mortgage loans.

Looking ahead to 2023, Habi hopes to continue on the path of growth and technological development, with a focus on delivering technological solutions that continue to simplify access to the real estate sector in Colombia.
